In SQL Developer 4.0 EA1, when run multiple sdcli commands, i am getting following error message. Where do i change the max simultaneous IDE processes?
Maximum number of simultaneous IDE processes exceeded.
It starts giving this error message for anything higher than 3 simultaneous executions. Is there any way to override this limit. i am tryjng to generate the pre-cooked performance graphs using sqldeveloper for everyone in the company to view. I was trying to parallelise this process.
So when you run SDCLI it's basically the full application running, just minus the GUI, or in other words, 'headless.' It sounds like you're exhausting available machine and java resources after the 3rd instantiation. To get around this limitation, you'll probably need to install SQL Developer on another machine...or tune the settings in your IDE and SDCLI conf files.
We're also trying to track down this particular error message to see if there's a specific flag that can be adjusted. Stay tuned.
I was using quite a beefy linux server for my automated report generation via sdcli, so was wondering how i could work around max IDE limit.
Thanks for the confirmation about the hard-coded limit. You are a star. I will look forward to the next EA2 drop. SQLDeveloper product rocks. It has enabled our company to view many of the reports in near time, as they are being pre-generated once for everyone to view.
In effort to overcome the hardcoded maximum of 4 simultaneous IDE environments when invoking mulitple sdcli commands, i tried copying SQL Developer to its own separate set of folder, including using separate IDE_USER_DIR setting to point to separate setting folder. Even then it kept on complaining about maximum IDE env issue.
I will next trying to create the copies of JDK home, to overcome this limit. Do you have any other suggestions in the interim, while you guys fix this restriction.
