Hi,

I am using Virtualbox 4.2.16 on windows 7

Trying to install Oracle12C GI for HA setup. My runcluvfy did not gave any error, but while "Perform Prerequisite Checks" I am getting the following error:

Device Checks for ASM - This is a pre-check to verify if the specified devices meet the requirements for configuration through the Oracle Universal Storage Manager Configuration Assistant.

Verification WARNING result on node: rac1  Details:

-

Cannot verify the shared state for device /dev/oracleasm/disks/ASM1 due to Universally Unique Identifiers (UUIDs) not being found, or different values being found, for this device across nodes: [rac1, rac2]  - Cause: Cause Of Problem Not Available  - Action: User Action Not Available

Verification WARNING result on node: rac2  Details:

Below are some outputs

[root@rac1 ~]# hostname

rac1.localdomain

[root@rac1 ~]# oracleasm listdisks

ASM1

[root@rac1 ~]# blkid | grep sdb1

/dev/sdb1: LABEL="ASM1" TYPE="oracleasm"

[root@rac1 ~]# id oracle

uid=54321(oracle) gid=54321(oinstall) groups=54321(oinstall),501(vboxsf),54322(dba)

[root@rac1 ~]#

[root@rac2 ~]# hostname

rac2.localdomain

[root@rac2 ~]# oracleasm listdisks

ASM1

[root@rac2 ~]# blkid | grep sdb1

/dev/sdb1: LABEL="ASM1" TYPE="oracleasm"

[root@rac2 ~]# id oracle

uid=54321(oracle) gid=54321(oinstall) groups=54321(oinstall),501(vboxsf),54322(dba)

[root@rac2 ~]#

[root@rac2 ~]# uname -r

2.6.32-358.14.1.el6.x86_64

[root@rac2 ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release

Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.3 (Santiago)

[root@rac2 ~]#

Please let me know why I am getting that error for ASM disks, I have tried connecting the ASM disk to SATA and SCSI Controller but getting the same results, Please not that the disk is attached to both nodes in Virtualbox. I have tried without using the oracleasm and with udev but same issue. This time I am not using udev. I am using oracleasm

[root@rac1 ~]# yum list *oracleasm*

Installed Packages

kmod-oracleasm.x86_64

oracleasm-support.x86_64

oracleasmlib.x86_64

[root@rac1 ~]#

Help to fix this issue.

Thanks
