The following Oracle support doc may be of some help - "Hyperion Financial Management Error "Provider cannot be found. Ensure that the provider has been installed properly". (Doc ID 1347082.1)"

    Cheers

    Hi John,

    Thanks for your help.

Now Unknown error became unspecified error:

    Unspecified error

An unknown error has occurred in the HsxSQLHelper object.

An unknown error has occurred in the HsxServerImpl object.

An unknown error has occurred in the HsxServerImpl object.

Same error with different numbers on Error log viewer.

I have created, validated hfm.udl as per the requirement with Oracle OLEDB provider , then reconfigured the HFM (DCOM, Server , Register Server/Cluster) >> Stop services >> Start EPM system. Still I m not able to locate this issue.

One more point I would like to share is that because of Config tool refer for TNSNAMES.ORA file on different folder, I have manually replicated the file generated by Oracle DB config tool from its folders (Still kept that, as my Listener refer to this place), will this create issues? in HFM DB connect? How to change the TNSNAMES.ORA file path in HFM configuration? if changed to one place will that help?

    Thanks,

    Kalyan

    Dear All,

    Finally the day has come to close this issue. Resolution found below;

    - Oracle DB & Oracle Client needs to be on the same version.

    - 11.1.2.3 is available including Oracle client with the download files

    - And mainly, when you install the client , will change the TNS_Name on environment variable to client location. You need to manually change that to the original DB location (assuming DB location saved with tnsnames & sql files), if you tried installing both DB & Oracle client on the same place. So Changed that re-configured the database, started the services. Now working fine.

Thanks a lot for all of you take serious efforts on understanding the system behavior and resolving the issues.

    Regards,

    Kalyan
