    JRE questions

    librarian_1

I'm about to download and install the 64-bit version of SQL Developer onto a new laptop. I've previously installed SQL Developer that included JDK and have never had to install it separately.

Is it true that SQL Developer only supports the 32-bit version of jdk1.6.0? If the 64-bit version works is it ok to install it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Java which also contains JRE7?

Can someone give me a link to the download which ever version I need?

Things used to be a lot simpler for this non-techie who is, for the first time, also having problems connecting to MS Access. I've posted a question about that issue. https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2568427
