I have interactive report page having lots of column. All columns were not fitting in the screen so I added a code in the region--- header and footer section---
<div style="overflow: auto; width: 1220px; height: 700px;">
I got a scroll bar at the bottom. But a new problem arised. When I am trying to filter the report by clicking the column name in the report page , a popup is opening for the first column but the pop up is not opening for the last column. For the middle columns, the popup is opening but not below its name. This pop is for filtering the report based on that columns.
Please give some idea to fix this bug.
Are the pop-ups gradually shifted more and more to the right as you go from first column to last column? What do you see for the next to last column? What is the last column that you can see? Maybe these other columns' pop-ups are shift off-page to the right? To start, can you tell if this is the case?
Yeah , pop ups gradually shifted more and more to the right. Now if I don't scroll the screen then everything will work fine but when I scroll it to the right so that I can see the columns which are not visible earlier and click on its name to bring the filter popup then popup will not appear.
I have about 60 columns, so I cannot see all in single page. That why I added a scroller. To get the last columns I have to scroll to the right most side and when I click the last or second last column too, filter popup don't appear. What I feel is that when I click on th popup which is not present in the screen without doing scroll, then popup cames but its not visible as it moves out of the screen. Now even I scroll it doesn't appear.
Please give some idea to fix this bug , as it is used in lots of pages.
I have a report on apex.oracle.col (APEX 4.2) with 60 columns and so far I am unable to reproduce this problem. I'll keep trying to make the columns wider.
Okay. I see the problem. When I add the scroll bar as you described, the filter popup seems to have a relative position on the screen. There is a place for col 1, then col 2, then ... up to col 8. Next col 9th is halfway off screen. Next Col 10th is completely off screen. If I scroll using the "Developer" scroll bar, I can see these as I scroll beyond the part of the page visible to the user.
But those are just symptoms. That doesn't tell why it does it.
(more) If I remove "overflow: auto;" I a still get a scrollbar at the bottom of the screen and the filter popup (dropdowns?) are aligned as they should be.
I assume the position of the logout (Navigation Bar) can be changed if you are able to change the template. That's something I have almost zero knowledge of. If you do change the template, I would try to find a way to float the Navigation Bar but keep it on-screen at the right-hand edge of the screen. To force users to scroll, scroll, scroll all the way to the right to find it seems equally confusing to me.
Do you really want to display all 60 columns at once? You could try to display as many columns as fit your screen, and put the rest of your columns as form fields in a detail view, somewhat like this:

Please tell the steps how to do it.
Hi Chandra Bhanu,
All steps, including code snippets, are mentioned in the blog article that's mentioned on the bottom of the apex page, but here's the url directly:
