I want to import data, taken from a table (Like A) into another table (Like B) within the same schema. both tables have same structure but name is different.
mine is Oracle 10g.
would like to know if this is feasible enough to import using IMPDP?
Below is the sample for export & Import.
expdp <system login>/<system password>@Instance Directory= /backup/ dumpfile=err_log_2013.dmp logfile=err_log_exp_2013.log tables=<Schema>.<Export Table Name>:<Partition> compress=y consistent=y
impdp <system login>/<system password>@Instance Directory= /backup/ dumpfile=err_log_2013.dmp logfile=err_log_imp_2013.log tables= <Schema>.<Import Table Name>:<Partition> CONTENT=DATA_ONLY
Both Exported table & import table resides in same schema. believe it can be done using Remapping but not sure of the actual procedure to do so..
Can anyone please help to sort it out?
REMAP_TABLE parameter is in 11g. This parameter is not in any pre-11g version.
You can use remap_schema parameter and import it into another schema, rename it and import it back to the same schema.
Why don't you use CTAS method to create a copy?
