Help to understand old RAC installation

He, we have old 10g 2-node RAC installation (RHEL 5). Before upgrade, I'd like to understand, how it was installed.

The trickiest part is probably storage question. Am I understand right, that it could be either raw devices or ASM, not both at the same time ?

But I see in  /etc/sysconfig/rawdevices that there are entries for vote, ocr and data disks:

#Vote1

/dev/raw/raw1   /dev/sda

#Vote2

/dev/raw/raw2   /dev/sdb

etc...

At the same time, at least all data located at +DATA volume, so this is ASM.. ?

Oacleasm, oracleasmlib, and oracleasm-support packages are also installed.

But when I run:

/etc/init.d/oracleasm listdisks

- it gives me nothing...
