Sequence to Start and stop RAC Services

          ==================================

Follow the steps below to start and stop individual application resource.

          srvctl start nodeapps -n <node1 hostname>

          srvctl start nodeapps -n <node2 hostname>

          srvctl start asm -n <node1 hostname>

          srvctl start asm -n <node2 hostname>

          srvctl start database -d <database name>

          srvctl start service -d <database name> -s <service name>

          crs_stat -t

            Hi,

The sequence what you said is right. First we need to stop all database instannces. Then we need to stop ASM instances. Then nodeapps(which includes services like listeners, GSD, VIP and ONS) and then Finally the cluster services.

            Command to start/stop database:

            srvctl stop database -d db_name [-o normal/transactional/immediate/abort ]

            srvctl start database -d db_name [-o open/mount/nomount ]

            srvctl status database -d db_name

If you want to stop the database by instance wise(one by one):

            srvctl start instance -d db_name -i INSTANCEname

            srvctl stop instance -d db_name -i INSTANCEname

            srvctl status instance -d db_name -i INSTANCEname

            Nodeapps:

            srvctl start/stop/status nodeapps -n NODEname

            Hope this helps.
