    Re: Cannot verify the shared state for device /dev/oracleasm/disks/ASM1 due to Universally Unique Identifiers (UUIDs)

    Michael dbi

      Hi,

      I have the same case with a 12c GI install, so I refresh this topic.

      From my side, in the step 11 (create ASM diskgroups), my disks are well displayed with ASMlib path (ORCL:CRSFG1D1, ORCL:CRSFG2D1 ...).

      However, I got the error at pre requisites validation. "Cannot verify the shared state for device /dev/oracleasm/disks/CRSFG1D1 .....".

      If I ignore the warning I can finish my install and all works fine. But I want to understand why this error is still displayed... Is is a bug ?

      Michael

          Hi Michael,

              Check with kfod, because this command will be started at installation time to display the asm disks.

             Output example:

          [oracle@server ~]$ kfod asm_diskstring='ORCL:*' disks=all

          ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

          Disk          Size Path                                     User     Group

          ============================================================================

             1:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_DATA_1                     <unknown> <unknown>

             2:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_DATA_2                     <unknown> <unknown>

             3:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_DATA_3                     <unknown> <unknown>

             4:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_DATA_4                     <unknown> <unknown>

             5:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_DATA_5                     <unknown> <unknown>

             6:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_DATA_6                     <unknown> <unknown>

             7:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_DATA_7                     <unknown> <unknown>

             8:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_DATA_8                     <unknown> <unknown>

             9:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_FRA_1                      <unknown> <unknown>

            10:     102398 Mb ORCL:ASM_FRA_2                      <unknown> <unknown>

          -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

          ORACLE_SID ORACLE_HOME

          ============================================================================

                +ASM /u00/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/grid

            The command returned the same output:

            [grid@node01 bin]$ kfod asm_diskstring='ORCL:*' disks=all

            --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

               2:       2039 Mb ORCL:CRSFG2D1

               3:       2039 Mb ORCL:CRSFG3D1

               4:       7059 Mb ORCL:U01FG1D1
