Will there be a JVM pause during GC log rotation and making GC logging asynchronous?

Dear All,

Just wanted to know whether there will be a JVM pause during GC log rotation.

Also, is it possible to make GC logging asynchronous ?

We are seeing JVM hangs and pauses during GC logging, so any suggestions to avoid this will be very useful.
