Look up tables for generic errors like: ORA-600 and ORA-7445

      Hi All,

I need to know , when we face a generic error like ORA-600 and ORA-7445 what is the approach that we have to keep before we go ahead and raise in SR with Oracle Support.

I have heard that we need to first look into the look up tables in Oracle Metalink but not quite sure about it.

      Kindly suggest

      Regards,

      Sphinx

before open a sr, go to alert.log and check what's happened or was modified before ORA-600/ORA-7445.

the next step will be go to metalink:

          ORA-600/ORA-7445/ORA-700 Error Look-up Tool (Doc ID 153788.1)

and with the first argument of the ORA-600/ORA-7445 and your Oracle version, you can search if your same error is documented, if not you have to open a SR.

            +1

i think first we must search all our problem in Metalink (minimum in google) not only for ORA-600/ORA-7445/ORA-700. If we did not find any answer only after that we could open SR or create new thread in forum
