Hello everyone,

I'm newbie in Linux world. Before this i have experience of windows. I'm installing Oracle12c On Oracle Linux6.4. i have planned to install Oracle with ASM. i have read about the ASMLIB which is an optional utility that can be used on Linux systems to manage Oracle ASM devices. i have installed kmod-oracleasm with following

# yum install kmod-oracleasm

[root@srv01 dev]# uname -a

Linux 2.6.39-400.17.1.el6uek.x86_64 #1 SMP Fri Feb 22 18:16:18 PST 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

After this when i run the following commands it get the error

[root@srv01 dev]# /usr/sbin/oracleasm configure

-bash: /usr/sbin/oracleasm: No such file or directory

[root@srv01 dev]# /usr/sbin/oracleasm configure -i

-bash: /usr/sbin/oracleasm: No such file or directory

[root@srv01 dev]# which oracleasm

/usr/bin/which: no oracleasm in (/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/root/bin)

anyone help me what problem with ASMLIB drivers? i'm follow the following link

If you ask me asmlib, is really a good package to support ASM. You need to download a three packages like, oracleasm_support......., oracleasmlib,,, and some oracleasmlib, (check online for your Os version..) once the installation of package is successfull, you can configure and initiate it....
