Hi, Thanks for reply
With ADF any expression is possible with my requirement? If not

The normal way to handle this would be to create a unique index on the db value and just try to commit the data. The index will throw an exception if you try to enter an already existent value. However, this will not work if you just tab out of the field.
A solution would be to implement a method which checks the db table for the value when the user tab out of the field. However, there is no guarantee that the values can be saved in the db once you commit the data as someone else might have entered the value.
Thanks for your response..
and coming to DB validating method in bean class i want to check out already existing records and
already put unique constraint in DB level and at commited time i handle the exception also.
for this moment of time i need to check existing records.
The solution is given in my other post. Implement a valueChangeListener in your bean. In the listener method call a application module method which checks the new value you get from the event. If the new value is already in the DB add a faces message in the value changes listener and set the new value to the old value to avoid that the wrong value ends up in the UI.
