Thank you for all you help. So I've managed to "get it working". Not too sure I understand. But since I'm not actually accessing the WEB browser, I dropped all the clear page items, get/set cookie.
I suspect that its actually the default "Login Process" that was wrong. I changed it from the default.
p_username => :P101_USERNAME,
p_password => :P101_PASSWORD );
P_UNAME => :P101_USERNAME,
P_PASSWORD => :P101_PASSWORD,
P_SESSION_ID => v('APP_SESSION'),
P_FLOW_PAGE => :APP_ID||':1'
On a last note, are Oracle APEX web services designed for this? How ever their performance is just terrible. Is there a possible handoff that could be done (Authenticate again the APEX Web service, and handoff session_id, app_id, cookie etc for access to APEX application)? I doubt it as Webservices is not an authentication scheme ;-) And this is a topic on its own.
Thanks once more.
great that it works now, but using this deprecated login procedure should not be necessary. Everything should work correctly if you have a home link like 'f?p=&APP_ID.:1:&SESSION.' in the user interface.
Not sure if I understand your question about web services. Maybe you should open another thread if you want to discuss this.
I can always put up a temp workspace and import the app that uses the "crazy" login, if you wish to take a look.
However, with all these new smartphones and all, what are the alternatives, if I want to keep the power of APEX/Oracle/LDAP etc and the ease of calling ajax calls.
Nonetheless, thansk once more and have a nice weekend.
