I've installed Oracle11GR2 on a laptop (ex: my_laptop_name) running Windows 8 (64 bits, Intel Core i7-3630QM, 16Gb RAM, 3Tb HD). I forgot to declare ORACLE_HOSTNAME and ORACLE_UNQNAME during installation, so I had to set them manually with the SET command as a Windows Administrator (ex: my_admin_account).
Now I'm using the following system variables from :
When I run the following command :
emctl.bat start dbconsole
I get the following message :
OC4J Configuration issue. D:\oracle11g\app\my_admin_account\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1/oc4j/j2ee/OC4J_DBConsole_my_laptop_name_localhost not found.
First question : why am i getting slash ("/") mixed with backslash ("\") on the PATH when I'm working in Windows environment ?
So anyway, I went to the directory "D:\oracle11g\app\my_admin_account\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oc4j\j2ee" and found the following directory "OC4J_DBConsole_localhost_orcl"
Second question : what's wrong? should I set ORACLE_HOSTNAME to "localhost" to make it work? or rename the found directory (ex: "OC4J_DBConsole_localhost_orcl) to the directory name the script is expecting (ex: OC4J_DBConsole_my_laptop_name_localhost)?
I've tried the solution given by "Error code 2 starting OracleDbConsole service | Fred's space" but unfortunately didn't work.
