hi all ,
can not i create dynamic action with a button in apex 4.0 ? because i am trying to , but vainly ,
when i right click the button in the tree view , i do not see the "create dynamic action" menu item , even when i create a button i do not see the option of "defined by a dynamic action"
, even when i try to double click the dynamic action ,i only see "items, region, dom object, jquery selector" in the selection type list .
I remember there being certain issues with dynamic actions and buttons in 4.0, I think it was relating to the fact that some templates didn't have the id field, which APEX uses to identify the button.
Somewhere I remember a message being shown when attempting to allocate a dynamic action to the button - similar information may be found when clicking on the label "Action" for the button properties - contextual help.
Also check the template being used by the button -> open the template details from the shared components section in the page builder.
Does it include #BUTTON_ID# ?
this is what i found in the shared components>templates for the button template

So the template that's used by your button, probably 'Button' for theme 9 with 11 references, what does it look like?
An example would be

i told you before .
An example would be
i do not know what you are talking about , should i write this line somewhere or what ? and why ? is it to change the template of the button ?
Click on the template name (either from your list of templates, or straight from Shared Components section from your page builder)
It will then show you what the template looks like - similar to that code I just pasted.
