Anybody was successful to get this to work?!
I was able to import it (import-dd) and create a Data Domain out of it
But now when I create an Studio application based on it, none of my components are not working
Im using tomcat bundle
There was an error when trying to render this component. Please contact your system administrator.
There's another thread on this issue just below. The sample data somehow was loaded without Datasets/Collections (or the Collection definition was dropped after loading the data) which makes it not very useful.
There should be a GettingStarted style project hitting E-Delivery soon.
Thanks for the Sample Application link and updated Getting Started document with it.
Few more observations while installation of Endeca 3.1:
There are references to Collection Key being required and explanations as to best practices all over the Integrator Users Guide:
Is there something in particular you are looking for?
Thanks for the reference links, I faced challenge while building a simple project
I don't get it. I downloaded the SampleApp from:
When I import the .lar file in Studio I get 3 pages: "Details", "TopN" and "Maps". And errors for every component.
What am I doing wrong?
It sounds like the view name (which for the sample application is also the data set name) doesn't match what is configured for the components.
Couple of things to check:
- Make sure the .lar file you imported is the correct one for the data. The sample application .zip file has two .lar files - one (EID31_SampleApp.lar) is to be used with the data from the sample app Excel spreadsheet, and the other (ED31_SampleAppIntegratorETL.lar) is to be used with the data ingested using Integrator ETL.
- If you have imported the correct file, then go to Application Settings, and display the Data Sets page. What is the name of the data set (which also controls the name of the base view)? The components on the sample application pages are looking for a base view/data set named SampleData. If that is not the name of the data set, then you may need to rename the data set. If you uploaded the Excel spreadsheet, by default the data set name is SampleData. If you changed that when you created the application, then there will be a mismatch.
I was able to create the application with the sample application Excel file and import the pages (Details, TopN, and Map).
