Java Mission Control is not included in the JDK on Solaris since this is not an officially supported platform for JMC,
but you can run the JMC plug-ins in Eclipse instead.
Install the JMC plug-ins from
and possibly also the experimental plug-ins for JOverflow and DTrace
Notice that you need Eclipse 3.8.2.
See documentation: Introduction to Java Mission Control
1.2 Starting Java Mission Control Client
The JMC client executable file is located in the
bindirectory of the Java Development Kit (JDK) installation path (
JAVA_HOME). If the
JAVA_HOME/bindirectory is in the
PATHenvironment variable, you can start the JMC client by entering
jmcat the coomand line prompt (shell). Otherwise, you have to specify the full path to the JMC executable:
JAVA_HOME/bin/jmc(Solaris, Linux, OS X)
So simple question, where it is on Solaris??? Is there a bug in your documentation or what?
