    problems clearing Cache OBIEE 11.1.1.7 unix

    Rystar

      Hello All

      im having problems creating a job to auto clear the cache each night.

      i have tried to create a script to send the direct request to the BI server.

      and there were errors sending the request directly to the BI server.

      then i tried to create a direct database request n answers and there are issues with that.

      first it kept telling me that it couldnt resolve some thing... which i have now fixed.

      but now the error im getting this error:

      [nQSError: 16001] ODBC error state: IM002 code: 0 message: [DataDirect][ODBC lib] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

      please help :-)

            i have created a new database connection called - BIServer

            it has a connection pool called - AnalyticsWeb

              Create a text file as purgecache.txt with content

              Call SAPurgeAllCache()

              save it in /<MW_HOME>/Oracle_BI1/bifoundation/server/bin directory.

              Run the run bi-init.cmd to initialized to your Oracle instance. You can find this utility in:

              <MW_HOME>/ORACLE_INSTANCE/bifoundation/OracleBIApplication/coreapplication/setup

              Then, run nqcmd from the resulting shell window with the desired options.

              For example:

              nqcmd -d my_dsn -u my_username [-p my_password] -s sql_input_file -o my_result_file

              ex: ./nqcmd -d AnalyticsWeb -u <weblogic_admin user> -p <weblogic_admin password>-s purgecache.txt

                You may use Issue SQL from Analysis->Administration

                use command

                Call SAPurgeAllCache()

                  hi All

                  i fixed it.

                  when you create the new database connection....

                  not only do you name the connection pool 'AnalyticsWeb'

                  BUT you also NEED to name the data source 'AnalyticsWeb' too

                  thanks
