    Directory doesn't exist

    D1990

      Hi,

I am using 11i application on 9i database. I tried to run autoconfig on the apps tier. I navigate to COMMON_TOP/admin/scripts/bdev_oraapps

      and ran auto config

      [applpdev@ebs pdev_oraapps]$ ./adautocfg.sh   after entering the password it show's the error Error:Directory doesn't exist.

I don't know what's the cause. Please help to get through this.

What 11i release are you on? What is the OS?

Please copy/paste the command you run along with the error message here.

          Thanks,

            Hi,

            Sourced correct environment file?

Is this newly cloned instance or running instance?

            Any recent changes ?

            Regards,

            Yoonas

              Hi Yoonas,

This is a newly cloned instance. I have sourced the correct environment file and checked autoconfig and it throws the above error.

Please post few lines from the error log.

Cloning completed without errors and application is up?

Can you check the inventory location specified in the /etc/oraInst is accessible for read/write by the application file system owner

                Regards

                Yoonas

                  Hi Yoonas,

Actually no log is created for the process. I have sourced the env file called APPSpdev_oraapps.env also i checked the /etc/oraInst.loc file as per ur advice and changed the ownership from root to appl user and gave 777 permission, souce the env file and i ran adauconfig but again the same error prevails.

the file /etc/oraInst.loc contains an entry "inventory_loc", I meant the location pointed by this entry, not the /etc/oraInst.loc file itself.

post the error that you get on screen when you run autoconfig

The oraInst.loc file contains the entry "inventory_loc=/home/orapdev/oraInventory"

I checked the above mentioned location and i issued

                      [applpdev@oraapps ~]$ cd /home/orapdev/

                      [applpdev@oraapps orapdev]$ ll

                      total 4

                      drwxrwxrwx 6 orapdev orapdev 4096 Nov 26 16:27 oraInventory

                      [applpdev@oraapps orapdev]$ cd oraInventory/

                      [applpdev@oraapps oraInventory]$ ll

                      total 20

The error showed when running the auto config is

                      [applpdev@oraapps pdev_oraapps]$ pwd

                      /pdev/p01/oracle/pixcomn/admin/scripts/pdev_oraapps

                      [applpdev@oraapps pdev_oraapps]$ ./adautocfg.sh

                      Enter the APPS user password:

                        Hi

I am using DB(9.2.0.6.0) and APPS(11.5.10.2) and the OS version is Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga).

The error showed when running the auto config is

                        [applpdev@oraapps pdev_oraapps]$ pwd

                        /pdev/p01/oracle/pixcomn/admin/scripts/pdev_oraapps

                        [applpdev@oraapps pdev_oraapps]$ ./adautocfg.sh

                        Enter the APPS user password:

                        ERROR: Directory  doesn't exist

Was the application copied properly from source to desination. compare the sizes of all the tops.

                          regards

I have checked the APPL_TOP,AD_TOP,FND_TOP of both source and destination and all of them are same in size.

I checked the link you mentioned but i have entries in my CONTEXT_FILE and i don't know the reason for this error.

                              Hi,

You should be checking the size of APPL , COMMON and ORA top. that should be same ( or the difference should be of the log and out directory in the common top as that will be recreated).

Also can you please run the adautoconfig.sh by giving the complete path and not ./adautoconfig.sh

                              regards

Post clone of application(adcfgclone.pl) tier completed successfully?

It seems to me  cloning did not finish successfully

Source the APPS<Context_name>.env on appl top and post the output of

                                ls -lh $CONTEXT_FILE

                                grep "AU_TOP" $CONTEXT_FILE

                                echo $AU_TOP
