    Installing Patch

      Hi Experts,

       

      I want to install patch to my Solaris 10 server. I'm confused about the commands #patchadd & #./installpatch

      Can you please explain about this 2 commands and which one I should use to install solaris 10 patch?

       

      Below is few info about my system,

       

      bash-3.2# uname -a

      SunOS moeuxwu 5.10 Generic_147147-26 sun4v sparc SUNW,Netra-T5220

       

      bash-3.2# isainfo -v

      64-bit sparcv9 applications

              asi_blk_init vis2 vis popc

      32-bit sparc applications

              asi_blk_init vis2 vis popc v8plus div32 mul32

       

      Patch that want to install is: 148888-05

          We provide installpatch script only to install a complete patch bundles. Otherwise, you should use patchadd command.

          FYI, the script invokes patchadd.

           

          For the patch that you mentioned, you should read the readme file to obtain the right command to use. In this case, this is "patchadd".
