I have a product that is planned over a two year period. The material produced has a shelf life of 6 months. My planning lot size is large and cannot be changed. The lot size is normally 12 months worth of inventory and any excess is scrapped after six months. My problem is that ASCP does not seem to recognize this shelf life when creating planned orders. I get a planned order in the near future but I do not get another planned order in six months when the material produced from the first planned order will be past its shelf life. It appears that ASCP assumes the first planned order is 'valid' until all of its quantity is consumed but this is not the case. I need to additional planned orders every six month, based on the shelf life of the item.
