I am trying to run script for OC$j as windows services. I am wondering because the script i have executed is working fine in my dev box and DR server, but when i try to run same code in my production boz throws error like internal error, command could not be recognized.
I got code from OTn forum posted by Srini Veeravalli. I am pretty much sure there is no error.
"E:\JavaService\JavaService.exe" -install "OracleBI OC4JService" "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll" -XX:MaxPermSize=128m"-Djava.class.path=E:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar" -start oracle.oc4j.loader.boot.BootStrap -out "E:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\log\oc4j.log.txt" -err "E:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\log\oc4j.err.txt" -description "OracleBI OC4JService"
code has modified as per my system directory
I would like to understand whether admin or power user require to execute the script? (In dev and DR box i have executed with a power user). Pl confirm this as well.
Much appriciated your help.
try this go to this URL OW2 Forge: Project Filelist and download the javaservice.exe and then create a windows service by running the javaservice.exe which you downloaded and add this in there
javaservice -install "Oracle BI: OC4J Service" "D:\jdk1.5.0_09\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll" -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -Xmx512m "-Djava.class.path=d:\OracleBI\oc4j_bi\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar" -start oracle.oc4j.loader.boot.BootStrap -description "Oracle BI Oc4J Service"
let me know how it goes, you need to have the jdk1.6+ installed
just follow my suggestion, download the file and add the service details as i suggested but make sure you change the paths accordingly.
No its not mandatory to run the process under Admin account you can run with any user as this will be windows service which any user can start or stop as required
mark if its helpful
