I'm not exactly new to Java, but can't find a suitable Forum heading to ask this one. Moderators- you're welcome to move it somewhere else.
I've found various bugs in Java and have tried to report them. I log onto the bug reporting system, report it, and get an email back giving me a bug number. But when I search for that number I'm told that the search returns no results. Insult is added to injury as that message tells me to click on a link for more information - that leads to a blank page.http://bugs.sun.com/faq.do
The bug numbers that I have are 9008549 and 9002718 - can anyone else here see them?
You need an account at https://support.oracle.com/ but this does cost something.
Then you can open a Service Request there and if it is judged by the support agent to be a bug then it will be passed to the oracle developers.
I am new to Java and followed the link you posted which lead me (indirectly) to the Java Bug Database located at... http://bugs.sun.com/
It does ask for keywords along with the Bug ID: that you were given. I have no concept as to what the bug or bugs were so I have no clue as to what keywords should be used. I hope the URL helps.
