[4.0] Bug - Ctrl+[letter] shorcuts weird behavior on Russian KB layout in linux

When browsing a table data grid, pressing any Ctrl+[letter] shortcut on a selected cell causes it to become active for editing (blinking caret inside the cell) and the cell's value vanishes. The only exception is ctrl+v, which pastes the buffer content normally. If I select a range of cells and press the shortcut, only the bottom-right one is affected like that. It's almost as if '\0' is sent before the command every time I press the shortcut.

I'm using Debian Squeeze x64 and gnome 2 desktop with standard keyboard layout switcher. I also use UIM-toolbar and anthy for Japanese IME occasionally, but I never saw it affecting anything like that.
