SQLDeveloper 126.96.36.199.80 64 Bit
I am currently editing a large package body (2500 lines) .
When using Ctrl-C to copy in the package editor window , often, the copy operation causes the GUI to hang for 5-10 second (usually when used after a paste operation). Very occasionally the GUI does not recover from the hang.
The problem does not appear to occur when editing small packages, or when using 'right mouse button - copy'.
Copying a single word selected is enough to cause the problem.
I have enabled debug, and to the best I can tell, details about the package are fetched on a regular basis when using ctrl-C . This does not happen when using RMB/Copy.
Occasionally, this query can take several second to run (network congestion maybe) , which I assume is what is causing the itermittant hang. I am sure I also see hangs when using other shortcut key combinations

it's the 'Ctrl' bit - when you go to ctrl+hover over the text, we parse it to see if the 'hyperlink' object navigation stuff should fire.
I'm thinking this was a bug that we had addressed during the 4.0 EA cycle but maybe not. I'll ask the developer to look into it.
But try not hitting the ctrl character until you've completely let off the mouse and have the text highlighted - see if that helps.
I also encountered similar thing. My routine was like this: large (5k+ lines) package and worksheet. Selected a few words with mouse, ctrl+c, go to worksheet, ctrl+v, execute query, ctrl+c the result, go to package, ctrl+v, scroll down, repeat. SQLDeveloper would occasionally hang on ctrl+c or ctrl+v inside a package, for a few seconds, burning cpu on 50%. I tried to reproduce it deliberately by issuing a lot of ctrl-c/ctrl-v, but it doesn't seem to happen just from repeatedly copying and pasting the same words.
