In Oracle db when we create a varchar2 data type column we specify the length in chars or bytes, For e.g. col1 varchar2(16 char) or col2 varchar2(16 bytes). But when we reverse this in odi, the model only shows the logical length of 16. Does ODI store whether 16 is number of bytes or char ?
Say If I were to change the data type of column from col1 varchar2(16 bytes) to varchar2(16 char) in oracle table, do I need to change it in ODI ? If so how ? I could not find where logical length of column is mentioned as char or byte.
Try by changing the String datatype mask in Technologies -> Oracle -> Advanced as VARCHAR2(%L CHAR)
