      X-Server access is denied on host

      [Fatal Error] DISPLAY variable set incorrectly: :0.0

      [Resolution] Verify that your DISPLAY environment variable is set correctly,

      and that there is an X11 server on the system. If you are

      running the Oracle Installer as a different user or on a different host,

      you may need to use the xhost command to ensure that host/user

      has permission to write to your display.

          There is no need to set any DISPLAY environment variable or use the xhost utility when using ssh. In fact, when using ssh you should not set the DISPLAY variable and ssh uses xauth and not xhost for authentication.

          You can connect using ssh with X forwarding either in a session when sitting in front of the server display, or when using a remote connection, provided you run a local X11 Server. If you are sitting at the console, you can try the following at the terminal prompt: ssh -X oracle@localhost, then start xclock or the installer and it should work. You cannot use the su command as it will break X11 authentication.

                    What happens if you use just ./runInstaller instead of sh ./runinstaller? Why do want to run the installer in a subshell?

                        If you can display xclock then your X Window environment is setup correctly. The problem is most likely with the installer then.

                        Maybe the following will solve your problem: X-Server access is denied on host

                          I had tried this previously but not from the ssh -X oracle@localhost

                          using ssh -X oracle@localhost

                          Then

                          [oracle@ghernan-linux linux64]$ ./runInstaller -jreLoc /usr/java/jre1.7.0_25

                          The ovab 11g installation GUI finally launched

                          Thanks Dude!
