i'm currently developing an oracle client/server and web server application and want to use only oracle technologies. where does the OAS fit in? can it be used in conjunction with development tools? does it limit what other technologies i can use i.e. servelets, jsp, jdbc(are these needed or will the OAS take away some of this work?)
      thanks for listening

Oracle AS 10g has a realiable J2EE engine by virtue of which you may deploy any J2EE application. I suggest to use Jdeveloper for J2EE development. Jdeveloper support Struts frame work , which is essentially a good choice for J2EE application architecture. As10g has suppor for Forms Engine, Reports engine also by which a normal Oracle Forms application can be published as a web application. Obviously this is resource intenssive.

          Hope this helps.
