You change the value of a parameter in a parameter file in one of the following ways:
By editing the initialization parameter file. In most cases, the new value takes effect the next time you start an instance of the database.
By issuing an ALTER SYSTEM SET ... SCOPE=SPFILE statement to update a server parameter file
have u tried to update the props$ table
It is very dangerous to change props$ table in higher version.
Set nls_language in init.ora or spfile.ora
I want to do the same thing.
Problem is that in Enterprise Manager Initialization Parameters nls_language and nls_territory are already set to german / germany.
select * from nls_database_parameters tells me something different:
NLS_LANGUAGE AMERICAN Language
NLS_TERRITORY AMERICA Territory
How can i tell the props$ table to use the SP File values?
To my knowledge, the NLS_LANGUAGE parameters in sys.props$ are used only to evaluate CHECK constraints and only if the constraints are actually sensitive to the NLS environment. Therefore, why do you want to change sys.props$?
This is, by the way, not possible in a supported way.
