we want to migrate our OCS to 10g (10.1.1.0.2).
Now i am searching for the best way to install the new OCS on new Hardware and move the data from the old installation to the new one.
What is the best way to move users, mails and calendar data into the new installation.
My thought was to create all users at the destination, move the Mail from the old storage database with a imap copy tool, but i am not sure what to do with the calendar data.
Any suggestion will be helpful.
i am not sure but this documentation describe the upgrade Path on the same Hardware. My Problem is that i also must change the Hardware configuration in the Upgrade Path, also i want to test the new OCS with Test Data from the old OCS.
I spoke to someone from Oracle who told me that in CS 10g there is exactly something you want. It is an upgrade with the possibility the change/modify hardware.
Check with your Oracle representative about this feature.
Otherwise it would be good if you tell us what you intend to change.
I am looking to do the same thing, migrate from OCS 9.0.4.x to 10g, and upgrade hardware at the same time (NOT an in-place upgrade). Did you ever find any answers on the subject, or accomplish your goal?
Thanks In Advance,
Same here, I have several OCS installations to migrate from 904 to 10g with an hardware change in the same time. I've been told by the support team that the "out-of-place upgrade" tool is still not available.
There was a webcacst by Oracle for internal folks and partners. In there they showed a way to do the upgrade in a different manner (plus hw change - I think as I missed the beginning).
ETA early next year. Still beta, with development in the background to help you.
yes the webcast you nearly complelty missed (you just arrived at the very end ;-) ) was all about "relocation" : upgrade + new hardware, but this information is still NDAed I believe. If you want more information you should contact directly your OPN representative.
The intention is that Oracle Consulting and Partners carry out these upgrades. Right now the service is still under development and will go into beta early next year (january/february 2006?).
