Timestamp and Interval in OO4O Classes for C++?

What is the best way to manipulate and insert timestamp and interval data into rows using OO4O classes for c++? I've tried setting it to "TO_TIMESTAMP(...)" and "TO_DSINTERVAL(...)" but it complains it's the wrong datatype.. I've also tried selecting the timestamp from dual, putting the result in an OValue, and putting it into the database that way but no luck.. any pointers? Thanks.
