Several problems with ODT 12.1.0.1.2

I have noticed several problems with ODT 12.1.0.1.2

1. Problem opening packages on XE(10.2) database.
Problem manifests in both Visual Studio 2010 and 2012.

In Server Explorer I have created data connection using ODP.NET, Unmanaged Driver. to 10.2 XE database

When connection is open object type tree is shown.

Attempt to open Packages tree fails with ORA-00904: #SELTAB"."OBJECT_TYPE": invalid identifier

Same issue occurs using Unmanaged driver.

This does not happen connecting to standard database .

2. Schema compare problem
It does not work if XE(10.2) database is involved either as source or target.

It fails with ORA-00904: "AP"."OBJECT_TYPE": invalid identifier

3. Connection Editor

There is annoying issue with connection editor.

When I try to modify connection and Connection type is TNS then Data source name combobox selects first TNS entry (alphabetically) and not the one that was used when connection is created/modified.

    Thank you for the feedback.

    1) ODT requires Database 10.2.0.3 or later since the ALL_PROCEDURES view added the OBJECT_TYPE column after that version. By now, everyone in the world except for 10.2 XE has upgraded past that point (XE cannot be patched). So this means 10.2 XE cannot be used with ODT if you want to view procedures. There is a 11.2 XE that you can use:

    2) Same issue

    3) Thanks for pointing that out. I will alert the development team.
