What do you mean by link is broken? Extract or Pump or Replicat abended? I dont think taking a backup of trail files would help because CSN would vary between extract and replicat. Can you explain clearly what you are trying to do?
Thanks for the response, Link means here is network down.
I want to take backup of local trails generated at site A after the failure of network. That trail backup I want to restore on destination site-B (database) so that replicate process read that data and apply on database B.
Is there any possible way through that generated golden-gate trails of Site-A can apply on site-b(Database) in absence of network?
Once the link will up, GG will start syncing if the replicat is running but if it is abended then you just need to start it. Make sure you have all the trail files in the specified location.
No it cannot process in such way. Because checkpoints would be maintained for each trail file. So replicat would have separate checkpoint and extract has separate so it cannot be applied using extract trail. Since network is the problem, once you establish the connection, replicat will start applying the changes.
Thats what my point was. I meant that trail files should not be deleted and it remain in the location specified in the prm file and replicat will start syncing. I guess I did not made myself very clear in last reply.
Fine Just telling OP about the checkpoints issue related with it.
