Problems connecting to Vbox image using portforwarding

Hello,

I am using the OTN Virtual developer day VM (Developer Day - Hands-on Database Application Development</title><meta name="Title" content="Dev…) on my MacBook Pro (10.9.1) and I can't connect to my VBox VM on port 1521 using NAT Port Forwarding. If I telnet to localhost port 1521 I get there but with SQLDeveloper no luck. Is there anything special that needs to be done in SQL Developer or in the OTN Developer Day VM?
