"oracleasm querydisk <path>" returned utterly messy info

      Hi,

We're on RAC in 11g on RH 6 on Dell with EqualLogic storage. Today we experienced something

pretty worrying. We had an hardware issue which forced us to replace the motherboard and

network cards of a blade (due to connection problems to iscsi portal after firmware upgrade).

Anyway once the hardware was replaced, we rebooted it several times cause the ASM disksgroups

wouldn't pop up as expected - at some point when running "oracleasm querydisk" on every disk

listed in /dev/oracleasm/disks, I had output as unconsistant as for example:

~ Device "/dev/oracleasm/disks/ASMARCH1" is marked an ASM disk with the label "ASMSSD8"

~ Device "/dev/oracleasm/disks/ASMARCH2" is marked an ASM disk with the label "ASMSTANDBYREDO"

~ Device "/dev/oracleasm/disks/ASMARCH5" is not marked as an ASM disk

~ Device "/dev/oracleasm/disks/ASMFRA1" is marked an ASM disk with the label "ASMSSD4"

~ Device "/dev/oracleasm/disks/ASMSTANDBYREDO" is marked an ASM disk with the label "ASMARCH3"

As you can see it was pretty messy; we had to reboot twice and run "scandisk" several times before

it fell back on its -good- feet again (before seeing for every disk made "Device X is marked an ASM disk

      with the label <matching X>").

I can't understand why it temporarily mixed things up so bad: did it ever happen to you ??

      Thanks a lot.

      Regards,

      Seb
