Online REDO at Standby database not accessible after RENAME

    Flake

      Hi All,

For some time, I am struggling with this issue. I created a standby database, version 11.2.0.3. Since the primary and standby directory structure was identical, no DB_FILE_NAME_CONVERT and LOG_FILE_NAME_CONVERT was specified, instead, NOFILENAMECHECK was specified in the RMAN duplicate target database. (script below)

      duplicate target database

      for standby

      from active database

      dorecover

But, (unfortunately), all redo logs got generated in location specified by DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST location. All redo log file where created as OMF type files. Then, I renamed the file/moved the file from DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST location to the location I want. Since then, the database is not able to access the REDO files from the new location.

I am getting the below errors whenever log switch happens on primary database :

ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 1 of thread 1

ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 2 of thread 1

ORA-00313: open failed for members of log group 3 of thread 1

select member from v$logfile correctly shows the log files. But, no writing has occurred since the file was moved from DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST

Any idea how to resolve this issue?

      Thanks in advance.
