Hello
Does weblogic server supports Java 8 ?
Currently we use Weblogic 12c with Java 7.
Thanks
Jay
Hi Jay,
Weblogic 12.1.2 does not support Java 8
Support for Java 8 will be introduced in a future version of Weblogic
Regards,
Prakash.
Any timeline on "future version"?
Hi,
At this time we can not provide an answer to your question as Oracle does not release information on planned/future certifications.
When new certifications are completed, you will find announcements in our https://blogs.oracle.com/certify/
How on earth is it possible that being the vendor of both Java and Weblogic, Oracle stays behind others? JBoss Wildfly has had Java 8 support for some time now, but Oracle does not even know when they are going to support it. Something definitely wrong here.
Please, Oracle release support for Java 8 ASAP.
You should be waiting for 12.1.4 version of weblogic, since this is planned to get certified with java 8.
Weblogic is not the only product that Oracle has, there are number of other Oracle products with which Java 8 is already certified.
Since your query is related to weblogic , that part would be answered .
Thanks,
Sharmela
Realize the issue for most of us would be that Java 7 is scheduled for April 2015 to no longer have updates, so we'd like to have our code running on Java 8 with a supported weblogic with enough time for debugging, testing, and rollouts. That's the key here.
Looks like JDK 8 is now supported on 12.1.3.
