Actually it's not a drag-and-drop. You should click on OdiSendMail in the toolbox and then click on the diagram area and it will appear. Click on the cursor icon again to move it (else the next click will create a second OdiSendMail step).
Not very intuitive indeed, common sense would tend for a drag-and-drop .
Thanks.. It worked
but mail procedure failed with below error:
ODI-1241: Oracle Data Integrator tool execution fails.
Caused By: com.sun.mail.smtp.SMTPSendFailedException: 530 5.7.1 Client was not authenticated
I searched forums for solution. some posts says we cannot send autheticated smtp mail using the command but alternatively there is some jython html procedure available in myoracle support.
just thought of checking if there is any work around other than that jython html workaround.
any suggestion please.
Your SMTP server requires authentication which is not possible with OdiSendMail.
Document 424304.1 on My Oracle Support describes how to send a mail with authentication on the SMTP server with Jython in ODI.
A blogger also wrote about it : http://karanbalkar.com/2013/06/send-e-mail-using-jython-in-oracle-data-integrator/
Actually, there is no relationship between ODI Agent and SMTP server.
If you are getting error while you executing send mail from ODI then, can you please paste your error message
If you are using linux OS, then please run below command on Linux prompt and check have you getting email notification or not
echo "Testing" | mail -s Test <your mail id>
echo "Testing" | mail -s Test firstname.lastname@example.org
and what is the mail ID you are passing as FROM ADDRESS, it should have a SMTP authemtication other wise it will give an error message.
