How to connect oracle database from different OS user.

      Hi experts,

I have installed oracle 11g on Linux.

--> oracle is user and dba is group having ownership on oracle software.

Can we give permission to another OS user to create and access the databases.

      Steps did:

I have created another OS user with name test, assigned dba group sets the bash_profile.

when m creating or connecting to existing database this gives me error:

      [test@server1 ~]$ export ORACLE_SID=prod

      [test@server1 ~]$ sqlplus / as sysdba
