The chapter in the Install Guide for the orchestration script is here:
Make sure the script config file is set up correctly. The parameters are here:
On your problem, are you running on Linux or Windows?
If Windows, make sure you run the script with admin rights (as it creates temp files in the root of C).
If Linux, make sure you run the script as a non-root user. Also make sure you have write rights for the temp directory.
If you're on Linux and having problems with ADF, you may want to disable the prerequisites check:
Thanks for the reply. I have followed the steps exactly mentioned in the guide, but still face the ADF installation failed error, it prompts the message "The system cannot find the path specified"
Please note I am running the command using ADMIN privilege's.
When you open the command prompt, make sure you right-click it and chose the "Run as administrator" option. This means:
1. If you did an ordinary open, then the command prompt window should have "Command Prompt" as its header. In this case, you are not running with Admin rights.
2. If you did a "Run as administrator" open, then the command prompt window should have "Administrator: Command Prompt" as its header. In this case, you are running with Admin rights.
In other words, the term "admin rights" does not mean your rights when you log in, but rather how you opened the command prompt.
Sorry to say but the best way is to just install each component separately. The scripts on Windows are almost always a pain in the ***.
i am also getting the same error although tried every thing mentioned above i am on window7.i checked every file and path with getting started guide of oracle.but i vain. Please suggest. Is it a known bug
It is not a bug... Generally, We required admin permission for creating folder. While; using Orchestration script. We have some issues with permission ..I guess. So, Better u go with one by one installation .Probably, we will get so much of ideas.
The real problem is that maybe you are installing on a different drive to the one with the temporary directory (usually TEMP = C: \ Users \ ADMINI ~ 1 \ AppData \ Local \ Temp \ 2). By example e:\Oracle\xxx. So pls verify that the installation is in C: \ xxxx
This is due to a bug in the C: \ Oracle \ eidOrch \ orchScripts \ ES_windows_OC \ run_endecaserver_install.bat, when the process s extracting the zip for ADF .
Another tip is to make sure you have sufiente memory (8 GB), that the process is very heavy and out of memory the process fails.
