i was trying to install a rpm file using "yum install package_name". but i get this error.
"Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: rpmfusion-free. Please verify its path and try again
Please help me.
Have you tried to contact the rpmfusion community to check if the repository is up ?
You can get support for RPM Fusion in IRC (#rpmfusion on freenode) or mailing lists (rpmfusion-users).
You could even use curl or wget to test the repository.
Thank you friends i have solved this. There were lots of useless repos files. i deleted all of them except the public_UEK. then it worked.. but i still can't install some softwares like VLC players, and some .rpm files. thank you
What is Public_UEK. I suggest you delete the files in /etc/yum.repos.d and download a new repository configuration file from Oracle Public Yum Server
Then type the command "yum clean all", followed by "yum makecache".
