This is very interesting and baffling. I have done :
SQL> ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE AS 'D:\app\oracle\controlfile.txt' REUSE;
SQL> ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE AS 'D:\app\oracle\controlfile.txt';
ALTER DATABASE BACKUP CONTROLFILE TO TRACE AS 'D:\app\oracle\controlfile.txt'
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-01277: file 'D:\APP\ORACLE\CONTROLFILE.TXT' already exists
But I cannot find this file 'D:\APP\ORACLE\CONTROLFILE.TXT' to open. I have changed the Folder Options ->Views to to Show hidden files with no success to find this file.
I have looked at the alert log and there is no mention that this statement was executed and that this file was created as expected.
I have also searched in ..\11.2.0\db_1\database. Am I missing a pfile parameter or what?
Note: I am running this rdbms 126.96.36.199.0 on Windows Server 2013 Microsoft
