In V126.96.36.199 ESSBASE is managed by OPMN. OPMN needs to be started before starting ESSBASE. You need to use "start.sh". Please do the following
1) Run "stop.sh" that is in the starter scripts folder - This will stop all Oracle EPM components that are installed on the box
2) Run "start.sh" - this will start OPMN, ESSBASE and all other installed components
The "startEssbase.sh" and "stopEssbase.sh" can be used to start or stop ESSBASE only when OPMN is already running.
alternatively try this as well.
start OPMN manually using the command "./opmnctl start" from the folder /hyperion/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/opmn/bin
and then post the error messages from OPMN log message from /hyperion/Middleware/user_projects/epmsystem1/diagnostics/logs/OPMN/opmn/opmn.log
let me know if it work , rest lets wait for expert comment.
As soon as I saw error from trying to run the ./opmnctl status, ./opmnctl start, ./opmnctl stop. I searched through the logs. Unfortunately it's all pointing back to some form of parse error with the opmn.xml. Oracle support and my team tried to validate the .xml but it still kept giving us errors. Thanks for the tip. According to the way ./startEssbase.sh or ./stopEssbase.sh run they are finished and successful but becasue opmn isnt starting we know that we can't access Essbase.
