    deployment.properties and Proxy issue

      Hi Everybody,

      I hope someone can help me. Our company is finally upgrading from Java 6 to 7. We are planning on deploying Java 7 Update 60.  I am having an issue with the deployment.properties file and proxy.

      Here are the contents of the deployment.config file:

      deployment.system.config=file\:C:Windows\Sun\Java\Deployment\deployment.properties

      deployment.system.config.mandatory=false

      Here are the contents of the deployment.properties file:

      deployment.console.startup.mode=SHOW

      deployment.trace=true

      deployment.log=true

      deployment.system.tray.icon=true

      deployment.proxy.auto.config.url=http\://CompanyName.com/wpad.pac

      deployment.proxy.type=2

      When I go to Verify Java Version and click on the link to verify Java, I see in the console the following:

      network: Connecting http://www.java.com/applet/JavaRemovalTool/launch.jnlp with proxy=DIRECT

      network: Connecting http://www.java.com:80/ with proxy=DIRECT

      I am not sure why IE does not use the proxy I have set in the properties deployment.properties file.

      If I manually configure the proxy info via the Java applet in the Control Panel, IE recognizes the proxy information.

      Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?

      Thank you.
