Thank you for the response!!!
We are trying to trigger if data on a report has changed since the option to trigger when data on a data object has changed is not valid because we are using an external data source... but to be honest we have been unable to get any kind of trigger to fire when we use an external data source. Has anyone been able to gat any trigger to work with external data sources?
I also tried to trigger alert when report changes using external datasource and the alert is not getting triggered.I have also checked some related documentation, but there is no information on alerts using external datasource.
I will suggest to contact with oracle support for more information on this.
We contacted Oracle support and here is their response .....
As of now there are no plans for this to be supported in the future, if you want I can file an enhancement request for this. Here is an approach that we think could work for you.
The best approach is to transfer the table content into weblogic JMS and then use EMS to read the JMS queue and populate a BAM internal Data Object, unfortunately there is not an article or note that explains the whole solution, however if you divide the project in 2 tasks you will find plenty of information on the web to accomplish your goal:
Transfer the content of the table into weblogic JMS
Use JMS to populate the internal Data Object
For Task A, you can use a database stored procedure to en-queue the content of the table into AQ.... then use Note 1288296.1 to accomplish B
a sample can be found here:
section: Configuring a Messaging Client and Message Notification
another option is to use BPEL to read the table using a DBAdapter and enqueue to JMS using the JMS adapter
sample of reading a table: http://rathinasaba.wordpress.com/2012/12/16/oracle-11g-database-adapter-as-poller-with-bpel-process/
sample of enqueing a message: https://blogs.oracle.com/soaproactive/entry/jms_step_4_how_to
For Task B, you can use the following sample as a guide: http://soawork.blogspot.com/2012/08/create-enterprise-message-source-in-bam.html
