I'm using JRockit MC Flight recordings, and I've seen some statistics that I'm not sure how to interpret:
live set: from 10 to 20% in all instances, but one has 10% to 50%. Such "big" live set is interfering the GC (gc pause time: 20ms avg, 600ms max on that "problematic" instance)
exceptions/s: about 1500 ex/s avg (?) Is this JVM really throwing 1500 exceptions every second on average? is this "normal" or is a problem itself?
What Version of JMC are you using?
See, Viewing Exceptions Information section:
"exception throwing can be a performance problem. Hardware generated exceptions are originating from a “trap” in the hardware and are usually the most “expensive” kinds of exceptions"
Is that the section you are checking? Is it possible to fix those reported exceptions?
I hope this helps.
