What you describe is an out of the box functionality in the version 126.96.36.199.x
As you said, you can created one default Vanity URL based on patterns but also for the same asset you can create "custom" ULRs, I mean add new URLs which are not based on patterns and you created manually from the Contributor UI.
Hope it helps,
Thank you for answer the post but you can give me a URL or any documentation about how can i do that.
The documentation on this link docs.oracle.com/cd/E29542_01/doc.1111/e29636/config_vanity_url.htm says: "Vanity URLs can be constructed in two ways. One way a vanity URL can be constructed manually, in a one-off manner by Content Contributors (see the Oracle Fusion Middleware WebCenter Sites User's Guide for more information). The other method is described in this section, and automatically generates a vanity URL from a pattern."
But just describe how to use the automatically vanity URL and I need to use the manually vanity URL.
I do not understand very well where do you have the problem exactly.
Is it about the creation of the custom URL? Once you have the WebRoot you will be able to add as much vanitys as you need in the Contributor UI
Is it about the use of the URL when you create a link to the asset in your JSP?
You should use the tag render:gettemplateurl where you can specify the WebRoot.
Yes, its about the creation of the custom URL, I created the WebRoot but I can not understand how the WebRoot works, I am a little bit lost.
This is the information about my webroot
Host name: demo
Root URL: http://10.10.40.119:8080/cs/demo
Virtual Root URL: Enviroment Root URL
But I just put that URL following the examples on the documentation, but when I open that URL http://10.10.40.119:8080/cs/demo, show me
"Estado HTTP 404 - /cs/demo
type Informe de estado
descripción El recurso requerido no está disponible."
So can anyone explain me if I forgot something or if I am doing something wrong?
Aditionaly, I add to the web.xml file, the new prefix.
The configuration seems to be good but you can not access to the webroot, you should create an asset with a template and add a Vanity on it.
You should edit the asset, go to url tab and write a name in the URL field and press Add in order to generate the URL
After that saving and in inspect mode you have to see the complete custom Vanity URL in the URL tab. Then, you will be able to use this URL.
Hope is helps now.
Thanks a lot Gerardo, Finally I solved my problem, I I just follow your instructions and I publishing the site to the delivery system and it worked.
