    FDMEE integration with SAPBW ODI 11.1.1.7 ORACLE DB

    1047190

      Hi

      We are trying to integrate FDMEE with SAP BW and import metadata from SAP BW

      In ODI - > TOPOLOGY - > ORACLE -> TOPOLOGY ->ORACLE -> DATASERVER  I have given SAP server name and userid and password to connect to SAP BW system

      In ODI - > TOPOLOGY - > ORACLE -> TOPOLOGY ->ORACLE -> Physical Schema i have given SAP BW Physical schema name

      and tested connection its working fine

      i have imported adaptors from Bristlecone this are adapters i got

      1.  MFOL_SAP_ADAPTER_MODEL

      2.  PROJ_SAP_ADAPTER_PROJECT

      3.  SAP_AP_ADAPTER

      4.  SAP_AR_ADAPTER

      5.  SAP_CC_ADAPTER

      6.  SAP_CLASSICGL _ADAPTER

      7.  SAP_NEWGL_ADAPTER

      8.  SAP_PC_ADAPTER

      from the above adapters which adaptor i need to place in odi folder  in this location oracle\Middelware\EPMSystem11R1\Products\FinancialDataQuality\odi\11.1.1.2.3\adaptors   -  ?

      i have placed all the above adapters in odi folder

      in FDMEE -> SOURCE ADAPTER

      I am not getting anything in Source Column , Parameters

      CAN ANY ONE GUIDE ME THE PROCESS TO INTEGRATE WITH FDMEE

      DO I NEED TO DO ANYTHING IN ODI

      Thanks

          Hi

          SAP BW metadata loading is not supported yet. It will probably come in 11.1.2.4

          BTW, couple of things:

          - the adapters you listed are for SAP ERP financials and not for BW

          - you need to import them into FDMEE. For that, you place them in the inbox folder and import from Source Adapter Page.

          - Project and model folders need to be imported into ODI

          - there is no source adapter/ODI project and models for BW to be imported. Source adapter is created per info cube when you import cube definition from source adapter page. By default, you have in ODI a project for SAP BW. ODI package is created in that project when you click on GENERATE PACKAGE TEMPLATE from Source adapter page (after you import cube definition and you configure adapter parameters). The ODI scenario is generated from the import format.

          hope that clarifies

            For Data loading from SAP BW to FDMEE to Essbase

            in ODI i have Created

            Technology -> oracle ->SAP_BW (Dataserver given SAPBW server name User and password to login to sap system ) -> SAP_BW (Physicalschema for SAPBW) context (SAPGL),

            In Desinger  i have not done any thing do i need to add any information in the below project packagees and scenarios below are which came default in ODI

            Project -> SAP BW Adapter Project

            Packages->   BW_INFOCUBE

                                  SAP BW Balances

            Scenarios -> BW_INFOCUBE Version 1_0

            In FDMEE i have done this

            source adapter

            Adapterkey - HYP_SAP (Defined by myself)

            ODI Package Name - BW_INFOCUBE (Defined by myself)

            source system type - SAP BW (Defined by myself)

            AdapterName -SAP_BW (Defined by myself)

            ODI project Code -  SAP_BW_PROJ (Defined by myself)

            Cube Name - BW_INFOCUBE (Defined by myself)

            if i click on import cube definition it is showing context code Global when i click ok its showing An error occured

            if i click on generate template package it showing An error occured

              Hi,

              all steps are detailed in the adapter guide from Bristlecone page.

              Basically you will have to:

              - Install SAPJCO

              - Install ODI Studio and Open Tools for SAP

              - Configure ODI Topology for SAP Instance (the technology is SAP ABAP) Adapters are using ABAP programs to extract data so they are not connecting to the database layer but to the application layer.

              - Configure ODI Topology for FSMount

              - Configure SOurce adapter in FDMEE

                The ODI Project is the code of the project provided in ODI by default (AIF_SAP_BW)
