This forum, as the title says, is for Sql developer questions only and not for SQL/PLSQL questions.
Unless this question has something to do with Sql developer please mark it ANSWERED and repost it in the Database general forum
Before you repost in the correct forum I suggest that you read the Installation Guide. Pay particular attention to section 5.7 'Reviewing User Accounts and Passwords. That section lists ALL of the standard accounts created and 'oracle' is NOT one of them.
It also doesn't really matter what the usernames and passwords are. Just connect as SYS and see what users have been created. Then you can change the password for those users to anything you want.
Did you download the VM and read the instructions here?
The instructions say oracle for both, and that's what works on mine (which I just downloaded on the 19th). Remember, it should be in lowercase.
And, just to clarify, we are speaking of the oracle user on the OS, OEL 6.5
